FOKUS 24
FOKUS 24 wants young people who have their basic needs met and develop competencies that will serve them well as they enter adulthood. It is not enough to focus on the problems of teens; we must help them gain skills so they can make positive choices. We know that young people need to be more than not pregnant, or not abusing drugs, or not failing academically…

They need life skills – and civic commitment and engagement – in order to have healthy, productive lives. So, knowing that youth need life skills and certain competencies to have healthy and productive lives, we are faced with the task of deciding what these skills and competencies are, and defining what we mean by positive youth development… This definition of positive youth development grew out of the Foundation FOKUS24 Curacao who developed specific Programs and worked with prisoners, teenmothers and drop outs over the last years!
